Merry Lemons and a Happy Cookie Year

Ho Ho Ho people crazy enough to visit my blog out of free will. I have been absent for quite some time now, but fear no more because yours truly is back to bring you news and opinions nobody really asked for. Today’s topic is “Democracy under attack”. I can already tell that I’m going to enjoy criticizing other people from the comfort of my home. But before we begin I would like to share with you my Christmas experience.

So let’s talk about:

Pretty much:

This year (last year) for the first time, we had a alive Christmas tree. At first I was against it, for I thought that it would complain all the time about room temperature or where we placed it. However, to my surprise the tree was mute. You see, in Norway at my isle each night between 12 pm and 3 am the trees are able to talk. True story!

You probably wonder what gifts I got. This year I have received chocolate and a new pair of headphones. Yup, that’s it.
I am happy to have these emergency headphones, since one of my abilities is breaking them faster than I can buy them. The chocolates did not lasted for long tho.

My forward thinking got me two more gifts, from myself to myself. I have bought a figure of Knightmare Frame Shinkirō and Suzaku keychain.

Well that’s enough about me, I have revealed enough information about myself in this post. You could probably track me with google maps at this point.

So let’s talk about:

How much we fu**** up this time

Pretty much:

Democracy is something most of us are used to. It is the right to decide alongside other people about what will happen in your country. We all have the freedom of choice and freedom of speech, but not everyone can enjoy this luxury. In 2018 there were around 49 nations with dictatorship, it’s not that bad right? At least from where we are that doesn’t really affect us, what can possibly go wrong?

A lot of things really, at any time we could end up as victims of politicians with way too big ambitions, or our own stupidity. All it takes is a group of wealthy people with power or one charismatic man in a hat.

As the first example I am going to pick on Poland, you can’t call me racist or unfair because I indeed am polish (sort of). In 2018? Polish political party that currently had the power, decided that voting is a waste of time. They’ve written some sort of papers that were supposed to make the Supreme Court subordinate to the political party and the president. If this would come to life, the political party could choose their own judges and people to place in the most important positions in the Court. It means that when the next election is done and someone else will get the majority of votes, they could just accuse them of cheating and the court would have to find them guilty. “Redo and repeat” until you get the power back again.

The point is that our governments can do similar things, like slowly changing the law without us noticing it, until we wake up to the police knocking on our doors to arrest us for “hate speech” on Twitter. The Freedom of speech is as important as the freedom of choice.

There is one special snowflake that I can’t call democratic but there isn’t any dictatorship in it neither. It is USA. In USA things are a bit complicated, there is a popular vote and something called Electoral College. Popular vote is a typical voting process where people vote for who is going to be the next president. But this vote doesn’t really matter, it is just a mere suggestion for Fatebinders in the Electoral College. That’s why it’s called a “popular vote” for it just shows who is the most liked president candidate.

The real vote I taken by the EC, each state has an amount of votes, These votes are taken by Electoral College representatives in every state. They follow laws that were made around 200 years ago, that is why some states have less votes than others.

These Fatebinders can pick the winner of the popular vote but they don’t have to, they can pick whoever they like the most ignoring people’s will. Hillary actually won the popular vote, and if it was any other country she would be the president. This is a good example of the illusion of choice.

Let’s not forget about Hitler, our last and shortest example. He used to be nobody, but he managed to take advantage of people’s hatred and made them want to follow him. This could happen again anywhere, all it takes is a little bit of charisma, knowledge how to manipulate with less educated people and a bit of luck.

To sum things up, we should remain vigilant and get involved in our society. Because the day we stop caring about what is happening around us, is the day we lose our freedom and the right to decide about ourselves.

Headphones Graveyard.

I hope you enjoyed the post, if you noticed any mistakes both in grammar and in the facts I made above, please let me know in the comments. I am looking forward to improve.

I got banned from twitter D:

Huh, for once someone actually wants to hear my opinion. Or so I thought before realizing that this is just another clever trick to keep me working on that weird blog of mine. You see, since the early November uprising students regained over the school so I am no longer forced to write these creepy posts. But they got me this time and I already made like 20 pages of script, might as well finish it. The assignment says that I am supposed to write about my experiences from “International Day” an unknown school that is not called [REDACTED]. On the other hand, that school should really fix few areas around the campus. No really, our cafeteria looks like a damn concentration camp.

Let’s talk about:

International Day at [insert school name here]

Pretty much:

One beautiful day people from all around the globe were invited to our school. These people have different backgrounds, some are ex refugees, others are photographers who took time to visit places that are in conflict and wanted to tell the tale. There were many rooms we could choose, in each someone with a story we could listen to. Too bad they only gave us time for three of them, badly planned if you ask me since some of this stuff was really interesting.

The day after there is something we call OD day (Or „Operasjon Dagsverk” for people that enjoy awkward Norwegian names). Basically students are supposed to find one day job and ask for a payment that is 400 Nok (around 48 USD) and donate it to OD. Every year OD chooses a project/charity that will receive the money we gathered during the work day.  In my opinion, that is extremely little pay for 10 hours of work in my opinion. That is way below the minimum wage, besides pumping up the price even to 500 would be better than 400.

Not much more to say really, besides that there was a huge controversy about the project this year. But I am not going to waste your time talking about retarded people that are searching for propaganda in whatever they lay their hands on.

Overall a positive experience only too short.

Bonus: Cafeteria pic

Spooky right?

Being stuck at school writing weird essays is not that bad, considering that the rest are being forced to move massive objects by PE teachers to build a temple for the glory of our “mighty” principal. Guess what, we are still not over SDG (sustainabledevelopmentgoals). This time the topic is Clean Water and Sanitation FoR EvErYoNe!

In short: They want to “achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all by 2030”. Because 3 in 10 people lack in access to the safe water sources and blah blah blah. We all know that, we do know that not everyone have a good life of a rich spoiled Norwegian art student. We all know that there are people that suffer, from not having the basic items that are often vital to survive through the day.

So let us take up a different topic, something that causes everything written above. Or at least makes all the people suffer more time than they have to

Let’s talk about

Human greed and other flaws that prevent us from getting shit done.

Pretty much:

Humanity has a long history of greed, and that is a fact, from medieval “holy wars” for recourses to oil craving corporations. Greed is a pretty little world, most of us think about money when we hear it. But in reality you can be greedy of anything! Yes, you do not need limit yourself to craving money, you can want to possess anything you want need or not need but think you need. The possibilities are endless with a selfish way of living your life.

And sadly, most of us fall onto that dark spooky road somewhere during our trip through life. Studies reveal that it is easier to make other people’s lives more miserable than to get an honest job in PETA. Human greed is not the only thing that prevents us from living our lives happily ever after, greed is a major problem but not the only one.

Human beings have also an ability to naturally fuck up any relationship by misunderstanding the situation. For example: If the first side does a thing, and the second side will miss the point of that thing and assume that the thing was an insult even if the thing was supposed to be a compliment, the instinct of assuming the worst will kick in and prevail leading to the second side be very upset or even angry. The first side will of course not know about the misunderstanding until it is too late, because in many cases the second side does not tell the first side about the thing. Then the first side will think that the second side is just an asshole. Fight started

Another thing is the trust. We suck at trusting others. However, I think this link  will explain it better than I ever will.

Where were we? I kind of lost the entire point. Ohh yes, and how that exactly effects everything like you said at the beginning you stupid white art student? Well, if we had the trust and respect for each other things would move much faster, without greed all the conflicts and misunderstandings would be sorted out in a matter of minutes. Instead of this we choose more violent way.

And this will probably last until we finally realize that we are stuck on this planet together, and how we treat it and each other will affect the future and how we live then.

However, with each passing day the window with a better reality is getting smaller and smaller. We do not have a lot of time left to become better, for it is already too late.

My First Tweet

If you are reading this, I want to make one thing clear.

I am not being held at the school against my will, and I am definitely not forced by the teacher to write a blog about first world problems. I am doing it from my own free will, to make you it a little less miserable for you to get through the whole project (Unless you are not a member of my class and just some random, then you are welcome to stay and watch how I start a fire(Not literally(It wasn’t me I swear!))).

So with a little addition of my horrible humour and a hand full of cookies…..

Let’s talk about

and what they are

Pretty much:

Long time ago in a galaxy far away on September 25th in 2005, a bunch of countries decided to get together to “end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all”. Instead of doing that they made a to do list for the next 15 years. Onto the list they added 17 points, that are going to save our beloved planet and us from total annihilation. Some are more important than others, so I had to choose the most important points in my opinion.

Here is a list over all of them:

  1. No Poverty.
  2. Zero Hunger.
  3. Good Health & Well-Being.
  4. Quality Education.
  5. Gender Equality.
  6. Water and Sanitation.
  7. Affordable and Clean Energy.
  8. Decent Work and Economic growth.
  9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
  10. Reduce inequality within and among countries.
  11. Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
  12. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
  13. Take urgent action to combat climate change.
  14. Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources.
  15. Life on Land.
  16. Promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies.
  17. Partnerships for the Goals.

the global thing

Quite a few right ?

But here I will list the most important (according to me), and they are:

Zero Hunger, Good Health and Water.

It pretty much speaks for itself, so I do not need to explain too much. However if you really want to know more details like „In how many % we suck at sharing and helping each other” you are more than welcome to click the link in sources or this.

I decided to focus on these three for one simple reason, our body is a machine. A machine that we need to preserve and care for if we want to remain functional. Water and food are like fuel that drives our bodies, and being clean help us to stay away from diseases. We can’t start help others if we are not feeling well ourselves, and since this is a project about cooperation we all need to work together. And for that our bodies and minds needs to work with high productivity.

That’s pretty much all for today folks, hope you enjoyed. You don’t need to enjoy tho, I won’t judge.
